    slow loading times

hiya. i have a 1GB DDR Ram memory on my PC and i have a 5mb broadband speeds. my desktop is not so crowded and not littered with unnecessary icons. but whenever i load my firefox it takes time and it is slow. (less than 10 seconds?) i have faster fox and nothing else running on the background. what could be the reason? what can i do to make my firefox and IE7 load faster?

    Spyware? Virus?

Try reinstalling firefox. I recently had to uninstall ie7 because it was making firefox go nuts.

I find that if I use hibernate in XP, when I resume Firefox consumes loads of system memory, this normally happens when a few tabs are open. A close and restart of Firefox clears the problem.

I blogged about a couple of tips that can help save memory with Firefox, not sure if these still work with Firefox 2 but anyway:

    Reduce Firefox's memory usage

    Restricting Firefox's memory leak

I find that flash adverts/animation etc seem to be the cause of high CPU usage with firefox. I've always installed flash block since and CPU usage goes back to 0%.
