Time for a Service Pack 3 for Windows XP?

I've just reinstalled Windows XP SP2 on an aging Dell Dimension 2350 (P4 2.5Ghz). I ran Windows Update and it found over 80 "critital" & High Priority updates

80+ updates (and I bet there will be more once the computer has restarted (again)...

I mean come on - how about a Service Pack 3 for XP Microsoft? Luckily I used a slipstreamed SP2 disk but this is crazy.

Perhaps I need to make an updated slipstreamed SP2 disk with all the updates - does anyone have any guides (links) as to how to do this?

I just use autopatcher as i spend half my time doing reinstalls for customers.
So many updates I would have to make a new slipstreamed XP every month

According to megagames and a Microsoft source XP SP3 will be out in the next 7 months

autopatcher is great, but it is a hell of a lot slower than applying a service pack. Took almost two hours on a laptop i rebuilt last weekend.
