Cheers pup the site looks good. I believe thats my decision for 64-bit vista is decided then.

When I can put it on as many machines as I can XP without the possible trouble and general randomness then I'll install it on my machines...

No, but you will be as l33t directhex that way!

People will admire you from afar, stop you in the street and say "I wish i could be like you".

Sigh. I can but dream of such things, being a member of the great unwashed myself.

Now all we need is someone to tell us they're running OSX and this Vista-related thread will be complete. Just like all the others.

well, in reply to the OP, "wait for MS's recently announced price cuts on the upgrade version first"

personally, i wouldn't upgrade an existing system with xp on it - but i wouldn't buy xp either

Technically, that would be "partially" reading those links

Edit: that was probably a bit harsh hex - but I really didn't see the point of banging on about linux when in this context it's irrelevant. Besides, WinUAE is more fun. So there.

what i was driving at is Trig's "xp works on lots of computers" thing doesn't remotely cover all the bases

IME, vista works well, barring occasional oddities (and it's not like XP was free of little oddities), but it's not worth the asking price if you already have a working windows that works on your kit
