I just installed windows vista 64bit so was wondering if its worth staying in one weekend and spending money on extra 2gb of mem? Will I notice any difference?

ive got 64 bit and you should go back to whatever you had before. nothing works with it!!! windows 3.1 would have less compatibility issues now than vista 64 bit
You won't notice any difference if you look at it objectively. But the kind of people who buy Vista 64bit today aren't people who just go on hard facts.. you're someone who likes being at the forefront of technology and knowing that you've got a good deal and have a kicking amount of memory in your computer (even if you don't need it) is liable to make you happier and you'll probably think your computer is faster.
So yes, it's worth it.
Although not running Vista 64Bit (I'm on XP64 atm) I am soon going to 4GB to see what differences (if any) are experienced.
I would assume it might give better performance (marginly) on certain games etc but I will wait and see.
4GB Seems a sensible future-proofing option and as previously mentioned it dirt cheap at the moment.
That is the main question here, it is dependant on your use, if you surf then net and play Solitaire then no point in upgrading
and on a final note; will people stop slagging off 64 bit Vista - seriously it is not THAT bad, I am sure it can have its moments but just remember one thing its a computer and there is life away from one! (Sleeping )

I noticed when in XP (32) with 2 gig some games were pushing my free memory down to zero - and so when i did a rebuild i went the 4 gig route. With Vista that only going worsen (heavier load on memory) and the built-in caching meant any spare RAM would go to good use.
I'd say buy it cos memory is so cheap these days, if prices go up you will kick yourself. Anyway thats what I told myself when I bought the Geil 6400 RAM for my Vista 64 PC. Strangely enough even windows XP shows 3.5 Gb of RAM present which is handy.
I'm wondering what to do about this also. Building a new PC, 2x1Gb costs around £40-45 but 2x2Gb pushes the price up to £150+!
I just paid £30 for another 2gig, cheapest performance boost I've had in a while. Vista feels a lot nippier and XP is displaying all but a few hundred megs, so it seems to make sense all around.
