Worth upgrading to vista yet?

I only really use may computer for games and entertainment system as i have tv card etc as well and maybe even sometimes I might do some work on it .

Was thinking of getting Vista home premium x64. Not sure though if there is still teething problems or if the new service pack due out will help. I think most of my kit has drivers for x64 vista but not sure how well nvidia drivers work. Is it worth changing yet?

Vista 64bit is fine.
Runs fast, uninterupted and the support for all but the oldest hardware is there.

For any dual/quad system its the best way to go.

Personally, if I had already paid for XP I wouldn't upgrade... but my next machine will have vista hp 64

I read there is a lack of compatible drivers for a large number of TV Tuners under Vista, double check yours is compatible before you decide to upgrade. I would seriously think about why you want to upgrade also, because lets face vista is expensive for what it is.

For what you get its alot of money.

Yeah, TV tuner drivers are rarely compatible with Vista, but I upgraded to 32Bit ultimate, expensive but I dont look back at Xp now, games did run slower at the start, things are getting better now, Vista iz de future

I use vista Ultimate 32bit and find it ok and better than XP, but that's my opinion. I will be upagrading to the 64Bit real soon

I should be upgrading to 64 in the next few days hopefully. just saving everything on the machine.

Is it worth upgrading to Vista? No, I don't think it's worth upgrading, there's not enough changes to justify the upgrade cost. Not to mention I suspect several of the issues with Vista come about purely when you do an upgrade install.

It's worth putting Vista64 onto a new system, definately, the extra features are worthwhile.

I'd leave it for a little bit now, MS have just announced some price cuts for Vista which should filter through some time soon.

Have used Home Premium, Business & currently Ultimate and not had any problems with an xvid/divx file yet. I use the codecs from Vista Codec Package Homepage (32bit and a 64bit addon package) and have had no problems with any media type, but I'm sure if you wanted to go grab the xvid codecs on its own and install that it should be equally fine.

I've had no problems with video playback (or software) on Vista 64 tbh. Pup's linky there is very good imho.

Got sp1 on the laptop and its still having the file copy over the network issue :/
Still got the CD next to the main Pc but really cba to reinstall it to have to take it off again a month later like I did last time, whens Xp sp3 again cos thats when I'll end up reinstalling but probably sticking with XP..
