Hey there folks, I just finished installing Vista SP1, working fine, all good, so should I be noticing anything now?

nope nothing much has changed, about all i've noticed is search has disappeared from the start menu, file copying is slightly faster but still far slower than XP! bring on SP2!!

Sim, I just reformatted and installed Xp pro due to this. I thought it was my pc, but it was Vista. I've had vista for two weeks and I'm not impressed by it.

I don't know what they have done, but my pc feels worse then it did without sp1.

Re: What should I notice after SP1?

I was hit by the slow copy bug and it was causing hell with the kinda work I do. I've not tried SP1 as my Vista partition was removed, but I'm shocked to see people still have this issue.

Does anyone know for certain what the underlying issue is?

There is no difference at all, just more problems to come as they try to fix bugs that cause bugs to make bugs un-fixable.

Re: What should I notice after SP1?

the slow copy bug is a pain and its has somthing to do with how vista caches the files for copy. It was supposed to make it less intesive with fewer steps between selection for copy to finshed copying but what it does is make a right mess of it.
