Based on my last thread, i've not even found if Windows 2008 server is actually full release, or final release candidate. But based on this proposal i've been shown, i'm not even sure if you can have 2008 machines in a 2003 AD?.
Anyone know.

I see no reason why it couldn't be. Is your current AD running at Server 2003 functional level (which I believe is a requrement, and that it will sulk if you're running in Windows 2000/mixed mode)?
And yes, it's released. It was released on 27th Feb, if I recall correctly.
EDIT - leedesmond’s blog » Windows Server 2008 in Windows Server 2003 Active Directory might help

I think the Forest Funtion level at 2003 is only needed for 2008 DC's if it's just a member server then it should be fine.
I can't see any problem running 2008 as a member server in a 2003 domain. I guess you may come across problems if you promote it to a DC.
I've added a 2008 member server to our 2003 Domain (running in 2000 Forest mode) and it's all fine

Is anyone using 2008 for a terminal server? I am holding back on setup our new terminal server until some one else has used 2008 in the "Real World" for this purpose.
