Does anyone know a trick that will allow me to delete a file on a D-Link NAS (DNS-323) network drive running under Win XP Home?
History- I backed up all my files from an older Netgear NAS (SC101) onto the desktop SATA drive temporarly. When I went to transfer all the backed-up files/folders, my AVG anti-virus caught an .eml file that claimed it needed to be quarantined because of pop-ups, so I let that be done (my mistake). A couple of 'too long file names' caused me to stop the transfer and start over - so I deleted all folders on the new NAS. Once Win explorer detects a problem, you do not know how much was copied and how much was not - it just abrubtly stops. Now I cannot delete the folder that is missing the pop up. Temporarily I ignored that folder and just marked it as junk. I sucessfully transfered the thousands of folders/files onto the new D-Link NAS. Now when I go back to clean up the 'stuck' folder it will not let me delete it and it tells me - 'cannot remove folder xxxx: the directory is not empty'.
But when you look in Win explorer there is nothing in the folder - it is indeed empty. How can I get rid of this folder or do I just have to leave it there forever?
