I can check what the permissions _should_ be, but for the time being, you can open up a terminal, and do:

    cd <whatever>
    chmod 777 <whatever file>

*SECURITY WARNING* - This will open up all files for world read/write/execute - so don't do it on a multiuser system. Where are the files located? You might find:

    chown

    and

    chgrp

    useful.

Re: Fiddled with Mac folders on my windows PC

open up terminal.app (looks like a dos cmd prompt)

    Locate the files in Finder
    cd <path to files>
    chmod 777 <filename>

I can't check if there's a nice gui way of doing it (probably is) as I don't have my MBP at work.

it was the project specific folders that i couldnt get access too but the chmod command seems to have opened some of the up. Some of the folders have a space int he name and im not sure how to get them to open.

Re: Fiddled with Mac folders on my windows PC

Try putting the folder name in quotes

    "My Folder"

    - if that doesn't work, try escaping them

    My\ \Folder
    (\__/)
    (='.'=)
    (")_(")

Re: Fiddled with Mac folders on my windows PC

I wonder if this is what the "Fix Permissions" thing in Disk Utility is for... I've never had to use it, if I do ever have a permission issue, I just resort to cmdline Unix tools.
