    HELP ME! I can't uninstall kazaa!

    The program i am running is Windows XP and i am on 600k cable with service provider NTL. While trying to delete Kazaa Desktop from my PC, i was unable to delete it using Add/Remove programs and a pop up told me that a Trojan Horse Virus by the name of Downloader Stubby A had been found. I then scanned it with my Anti Virus program which is AVG free edition package. When the virus scan was complete it told me that it had healed the infected file. I then tryed to remove Kazaa once again but Add/Remove could not remove Kazaa, and the icon had changed from the Kazaa Logo to a magnet!!!!
    Help Me. What is wrong?

    You could try running search and destroy through your system.
    Should pick up and remove all the spyware.

    Do you get any sort of error when trying to unistall?

    I don't know about AVG, but does it quarantine infected files and stop you from doing anything to them? (Might explain the magnet icon)

    Install Sheild (R) set up launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
    And another thing, i've come on today to try and uninstall it and the logo has changed yet again from a magnet to the logo of another software i have.

    What does search and destroy do and where do you find it on your computer?

    Search and destroy is an spyware removal tool.
    Its not on windows - you download it (for free!) from

    http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download

    Remember to update it before running it.

    Stubby A is arguably a trojan horse, though technically spyware. In case you didn't realise, Kazaa is riddled with spyware.

    As well as Spybot - Search & Destroy you could also try AdAware, it's a similar program and also a freebie. Each usually detects stuff the other missed.

    Here's another freebie that's a quick and easy way to remove stuff from your registry, JV16's RegCleaner. This file was originally a freebie d/l but is now no longer available. It dates from March 2003. I have hosted it Here

    You could use that to remove any Kazaa stuff from your registry.

    Use k-lite instead.
    R-points pyramid scheme is NOT allowed on HEXUS. Please do not add it back again - thank you.

    Or WinMX. I've been using that over a year, never picked up anything nasty.

    David, P2P programs are not warez.

    Still, I can see your stance; this thread could easily head that way I guess.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();
