    Windows Media Player 9

Damn its a clever piece of software.

Sometimes a bit frustrating to use, but all the colour stuff that it does with the music is damn clever.

Also the colours, and shapes it make kinda reflect the music - well i find

I prefer the Advanced Visualisation Studio (AVS) with Winamp. Plug the laptop into the TV and HiFi and just leave the music playing and the swirling patterns running on the screen will help keep everyone entertained

The best thing I found is the additional toolbar you can create if it's installed on XP.
Still prefer winamp 2.8 for Mp3's though.

iTunes here. The earlier PC releases were about as stable as Windows ME was on my PC but it's the nicest IMO (though I haven't tried Winamp 5 as yet)

almost every mp3 player has some kind of visualisation support. winamp's AVS is pretty ubiquitous. personally i like a winamp plugin called Whitecap - all wireframe etc, i have a "start visualisation" button on my remote

I'm a Media Player man......I like the layout, the ease of trac info on broadband and the whole shape of it.

Comfort, as they say,is worth its weight in gold. Tried Winamp.....felt.....tiny and small and clicky.....like I might break it

Media Player 9.....besides....Moviemaker like WMA files for music not MP3

I agree with Zak. Media Player is great. Easy to use yet advanced. I don't like Winamp much. The Milkdrop visualisations are pretty cool, as is the skinning, but it's too fiddly.

I just use RealOne Player. Maybe not the best, but I have it and it works so I'm happy.

As a side note, have you ever read the WMP9 AUP? Might be a little surprised at what you seem to have agreed to, legally enforcable or not. :>
