    Re: Windows 7 RC

running nod32 on 3 systems with windows 7 ultimate 32 bit on. nod32 version 3, nod 32 version 4 and nod suite witht he firewall. all working great with no issues. also running 7 for gaming and so far Wow, cod4, battlefield 2 and lotro no problems. some odd quirks in regard to file sharing across 2 pcs on intial setup and also where its installing certain game files, but other than that its far better than the vista i was using preiviously. cleaner install no driver issues and no crashes or bluescreens yet and uses far less system resources.

  3. Received thanks from:

Sigh. Pro, enterprise and ultimate (check the MS web site) - and therefore not for home users. It's squarely aimed at small business users (again according to MS). I suppose you could get it for your home if you really wanted to but it's largely pointless given what it does and doesn't support.
But i'll take a guess that you're planning on pirating 7 anyway "me heartie"

Right. So Enterprise (knew it was either going to be enterprise or business, couldn't be bothered to check) won't be available to the general public. But Ultimate and Professional will be available to general public. Yes it is aimed soley at businesses, but that won't stop home users with either professional or ultimate edtions from using it.

Errrr no. My 2 x Vista are legit, as well as my copy of WHS, and XP, and Windows ME. So you can stop making assumptions thank you very much.

Not to much of a loss as it was an OEM 64 bit vista ultimate but tbh I can't really see what is so special about Windows 7 that will make me want to dump Vista and run Win 7 for the cost of yet another, probably £100 OEM for Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. It's vista with bells and whistles on it and using less resources but then the gaming shuttle I built isn't exactly short on resources atm xD

Sorry for two posts in quick succession but that must be the only known case of Windows ME in use to this day xD or in fact the only copy left of it that wasn't destroyed by most the tech crowd

I got a temp ban for apparently posting what I was downloading...other more senior members didn't get the same treatment - but I've already discussed this via PM, and won't bring it into public debate

hhhhhaa, I don't actually have a copy left that I use. I used to use it on my really really old machine, but I think I'm the only one who loved ME. I never had any problems with it. Unlike the rest of the world (apparently).

Anyway, the first official Windows Update was released last night for the RC build. Only for x86-32 system though. Check WU to get it.

Got my 4770, no driver support under Windows 7 x64, just shows up as standard graphics. Nothing on ATI site either for it on any Windows version. Tried the Sapphire CD, nope nothing.

Having a similar issue with Win 7 on the shuttle, can't find the onboard sound and then it attempts the vista drivers, copies the files over reboots and back to square one. Problem I have is that ****tle just aren't acknowledging Win 7 at all atm.

Apparently the next Catalyst 9.5 will have support for it which is due out on the 13th.

You tried Vista drivers for your Shuttle?

I still have my holographic ME disc at home alongside my XP Pro edition and MCE2005 discs

I've just emptied a 80 Gb SATA drive last night and moved all the mp3's to my array so I'll be playing with windows 7 over the weekend.
