Aye,ordered HP early this morning from Amazon.
Yup. From Amazon.
Also picked up the MS Office 3 user pack bundle. Fed up with OOffice.
Oh yes
Got up got dressed went to pick up my phone and remembered it was Windows 7 day!
ordered Premium £45 & Pro £90 from Amazon
I ordered 2 HP from Amazon. HP was already sold out at ebuyer at that time...
Missed the Amazon £45 one so gone to Play.com, I was in two minds considering I have the RC until next year but I could never go back to XP & it's not ever going to drop below £50 again is it.
The whole 'no IE' thing is a pain in the backside but as you need to backup anyway what's the harm in sticking firefox on your backup drive. Does Windows update run through a browser in 7, I can't remember? I doubt it considering..
EDIT: From here
So install on multiple machines as long as they're not switched on at the same time?Quote:
Unlike the rest of the world, everybody in Europe gets to install 7 E on more than one machine, providing it's not running on more than one machine at a time, and we don't have to pay extra for the privilege, unlike our non-European cousins.
Amazon are still taking orders...
Just to get this straight, the £45 Windows 7 Home Premium from Amazon is not an upgrade or OEM version is it?
Its the full retail version.
No Rob B, since its the retail version if it follows the same EULA as Vista you can uninstall it completely from one device and transfer it to a new device as long as its not to "share" the licence between the two e.g exactly what you are suggesting lol.
OEM versions im guessing will still be tied to the motherboard you are using.

Quite a old article but explains it well.
Basically you can only have it installed on any one device at any one time, if you uninstall it from your current device Eg laptop and move it to a main PC that is fine from my understanding. I could be wrong though....
Yer OEM versions have always been tied to the motherboard, basically if you upgrade the motherboard your licence is worthless, though their are ways to get around it with microsoft as they allow replacement of the motherboard were its damaged, but we won't go their. At the moment their don't seem to be any OEM versions to buy but they will crop up.
