    Esobi advanced news reader

Hi there, as I was browsing to check available RSS and news readers I found a review about esobi which I haven't heard so far, but nevertheless seems really interesting.
    Here's the review: http://www.softpedia.com/reviews/win...w-117534.shtml

My need for RSS management is more than what online RSS news readers and browser plugins offer. That's why I am on the lookout for a better tool. I am comparing quite a few of them and esobi is new to me, but looks very advanced and innovative, so I'd be interested in some opinions from the community here.

    Re: Esobi advanced news reader

In the past I've tried many standalone RSS readers and found most of them to be disappointing in one way or another, but I eventually settled on GreatNews - it hasn't been developed for a while, but it's well-designed, simple, fast (unlike some of the .NET based alternatives) and has all the features I need.

I haven't checked out eSobi completely, but at first glance it doesn't appear to offer much that GreatNews doesn't (in fact the overall look and feel seems very similar), so I can't see any compelling reason to shell out $29.95 for it at present.

That idea did cross my mind, but I thought I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.

I've suggested a very capable (free) alternative anyway, so if he was just pimping his own product it presumably didn't work out quite as well as he would have liked...
