A Trojan Horse I Just Can't Get Rid of...

    Hey Guys,

The AVG Resident Shied (the most updated version) keeps alerting me to there being a Trojan Horse Dialer in one of my regestry files but every time I run a scan it comes up with nothing. Zone Alarm is installed and has been since before this problem. Since I updated ZA it yesterday (in an attempt to get stop the Trojan) there have been 1300 attempts to access my PC, 311 of which are high level!!! How do I get rid of this????

(I'm running WinXP with all the fixes and security updates installed)

you may also find its in the system restore files - Where does AVG say its location is?

Switching off, the back on, the system restore option would flush it, but you'll lose any previously created restore points.

Thanks for the help chaps, I think it might have been a slight glitch with AVG though, as I unstalled it (to do a fresh install) and it said that the Virus Vault wasn't empty when it was (I had deleted the trojan from there before when it was detected and I thought I had got rid). So the I'm seeing if a fresh install will do the job,
