    More IE problems (as usual)

Ok i've been working on a new site design for some time now although i'm having two problems.

There's a gap between the header and the blue bar and the navigation links are spread apart.

    http://www.kezzer.co.uk/test/

Compare it in firefox and IE and you'll see.

No idea what's causing the problems mind you, any ideas?

Also, looking for some constructive critisism on the site, cheers

IE treats carriage returns in your code as spaces in the layout, put all the code in one line and it will remove the spaces. Makes it harder to read the code but that's the price we have to pay to live with IE.....

Had to bump this thread http://www.kezzer.co.uk/ A line break is being incurred between the header image and the blue bar for some reason. Anyone know how to stop it from doing that? I'm not sure why it's doing it. That's one minor issue, the other is that the header area in the nav bar (the bit that says "navigation" and "latest news" is different in IE and firefox. Any ideas on that? Cheers

add a negative margin to your #bar

    e.g.

    margin: -3px 0 0 0;

Not sure why it's generating the break unless it's the load of extra line breaks in your code.

Nope, no line breaks, i've just remembered what i did do though. In order for it to be strict XHTML standards i got rid of border="0" in the HTML and put img { border-width: 0px; } in the CSS file. That's the only thing which could have caused the line break as it was working fine beforehand. I'll try that anyway

The website is looking nice, theres a bit of a gap on the menu bar in firefox, that doesn't look right.

i think the gap between the header image and the body/menu looks fine.

Did that snippet of PHP code i gave you help any?

Yeh it helped, the website is currently database driven but i haven't touched it in a long time. Basically the layout it pretty much done, the only problem is the CMS isn't done whatsoever. It's far from finished on the back-end.

Yeh the gap isn't meant to be there, that was the point in my post I've got an idea though, i'm making the header smaller anyway so i'm just going to add that blue bar onto the header which will make it easer. Going to apply a drop shadow for the background and a slightly rounded bottom edge to the white content area. Will do it in the next hour hopefully

Ok fixed that issue, i changed the header completely (re-made it so it's higher quality and the blue bar was added to the image as well as making it smaller). I did as Az said and it worked a treat but had to apply it to the nav bar. Displays properly in IE6 and firefox now. Still the issue with the "navigation" and "latest news" headers being wrong. Definitely a problem in my CSS file, i'm modifying the <h3> attribute in CSS so it's something there. Not sure what to do with it though

Kezzer - on the 'Thanks to' section if you hover over the hyperlinks they are set to be white which effectively means they disappeer (does the same using ie and firefox). I guess a small style sheet and/or code tweek is needed.

Plus there is no mention of the people here at Hexus that have helped you

Other than that a nice site Well done dude
