DVD shrink is the best (make that easiest) freeware option. But I'm suprised at home many people have not come accross this absolute killer application called AnyDVD. It's awesome, simple and with anyDVD running you can use ANY dvd backup software - even the ones that don't normally backup protected DVD's. I personally use CloneDVD2, but you can use Nero or anything.
