    network connection icons

    hi,
    I got a new pre-built PC and it has a LAN card and a Wireless Lan card installed in it. I am not using these but there are two icons in the taskbar which say im not connected. is there anyway of removing the icons from the taskbar?

    Yes (presuming it is XP). Go in to Control Panel, Network Connections and right click on the connection concerned, select properties and deselect the box titled "show icon in notification area when connected" .

    It is XP and I have allready done that and it has not worked.

    Right click the taskbar -> properties -> click the customize button at the bottom. Find the network icons in the list and change the behavior to 'always hide'.

    Try disbaling them in Network Connections. It worked for me on XP.

    Nope none of that worked they are still there. Il just have to uninstall the card drivers.

    Have you got the 'hide inactive icons' option ticked ?

    Open up your Network Connections, right click a connection you dont want and choose disable.
