Seeding torrents after format & Reinstall?

So basically I got a few helpful torrents I want to seed and keep up after I reinstall Windows. The files won't be changing locations or anything (all kept on a seperate harddrive), I just want to replace the whole of Windows, and that's it.

I'm reinstalling Windows because my installation is ageing, and for some reason, World of Warcraft and a few other games keep randomly freezing recently through any time periods of the game, which is very annoying particularly in WoW.

As long as you setup mTorrent to save torrents to the same location, all you have to do is reload the original torrent file.... then look for " force re-check" or something siimilar (thats what its called in Azeurus)...mTorrent will then check the file to see how far its got downloading it. Since you're 100% it will just start seeding it again.

If you are using Azureus, then it will cope, as long as you keep both the .torrent file and the data.

When you restart Azureus after your OS re-install, you can change the location where the data for each torrent is installed, so you can point it at your saved data, even if you have moved it. I use that feature quite a bit so that I can keep my current downloads in one place, and then categorises completed files in different places.

Ah thanks for the help guys - I haven't saved the .torrent files, but since they are all active they are all in Temp I think. So I hope that works Sounds like it definately should...


@ Chrestomanci, yeah that's quite a useful feature, I set active torrents to the "In Progress" folder, and "Downloads" for completed. These torrent programs are so refined now I don't know what else they can do with them ;o
