Chucking myself in at the deep end....

Cos it's my first ever MTB race this morning, and it's a 3hr enduro event around a local plantation. The guy who laid the course out isn't right in the head either so it's going to be a bit silly in places Really looking forward to it though... hopefully I won't be spending the rest of the day in casualty

Have fun mate, just finishing will be an achievement, what bike you got?

Well... that was fun... the course had been laid out by a madman as I had thought.... he managed to lay out a 5.8 mile course through some of the nastiest singletrack on the planet on a patch the size of a postage stamp - I was doing about 48 mintues a lap, and managed 2 laps before I fell off and lost the enthusiasm to continue - I didn't come last though, there was one chap who only managed one lap and I was only 8 minutes behind the chap in front of me.

Still - target set for the next one now going to do at least 3 laps next time, maybe even 4.

Oh, and I've got a Y2K Marin Wolf Ridge, with the disc brake option (it was VERY expensive back then )
