Gosh, thanks for sharing.
People say it's often the short journeys we all get caught out on.
I hope you are well soon.

Hi danroyle,
Honestly I got loose bums. Reminds me of my cousin's accident. He got 8 stitches in his head.
Hope you are healing quickly and will ride the bike again.
Thanks for reminding us the importance of helmet.
it does seem to be popular with the bumpers.
I suppose he coule have taken the effort to read the whole thread then he would have seen me say that i was getting rid of the bike. So definitely cant ride it again all that's left is the front wheel which got trashed kept it as a reminder to myself.
And yes all healed up except for my arm. Minor 1 inch scar above my eyebrow and a small scar on my top lip (chicks dig scars though so it's cool)
Am just waiting on the arm to recover its taking a very very very long time to do so which sucks
ouch man that looks painful, still not gonna be wearing a helmet though, yes its a risk but you know, im not that bothered really. If something bad happens.. it happens.
Ouch, sorry mate. As my A&E consultant says - the face is just the crumple zone for the brain. I would've thought you still would've had most of those injuries unless you wore a full-face helmet though, not disputing the importance of cycle helmets of course
aouch, that gotta hurt man. couldn't look at that photo for more than 5 seconds.
Ouch! That really is food for thought, I've just started cycling into work again (my last bike got stolen) and I've not been wearing my helmet since I started again..
I think a lot of young men have this kind of "I'm invincible" outlook on life, takes something like this to remind you what could happen sometimes! I'll be wearing mine from now on thats for sure!
Thanks!
Wish you a speedy recovery
