I think its a complete joke. Men talk like this all the time. It was between him and a friend and they didnt know it would get out. Warning - yea okay but not sacked.

Now the way its going to be is when there is a woman referee managers will be afraid of shouting at them like they all normally do which is part of the game incase the woman takes it thick and they get sued.

The way the game works will get changed and wont be as good as it was.

But, as I understand it, he wasn't sacked for the incident of expressing opinions to a friend. For that, he was warned. He was sacked when it came out about absolutely inappropriate and provocative sexual remarks and suggestions, to a female co-worker, in the workplace which appear to amount to sexual harassment.

I still stand by what I said about women officials changing the game for the worst. My opinion only of course.

I will miss Andy Gray though. However I know he will be scooped up by some other channel.

The BBC would do well to snap him up now. He had to go IMO because you have to look at this from Sky's view. They cannot afford to risk their image or reputation, so it's what is best for the company really.

That would be a suicidal move.

In this age of supposed BBC austerity, to snap up a high-profile commentator on a high-profile salary (at a time when relevant BBC football coverage is negligible), not to mention the "sexist" label hanging over his head, would be absolutely insane.

Personally i wouldn't mind seeing Georgie Thompson and Ed Chamberlin take over as presenters - although this still leaves the commentary spot spare, maybe Redders could fill that?

They've still got their main commentators, Martin Tyler and others, so it's not a huge deal. Gray is a great co-commentator in my eyes though, I don't think anyone there are present is capable of replacing him in the big games.

I think Alan Smith does some work for them in that department, although I'm not sure. Couldn't name anyone else at Sky frankly, and even if I could, they wouldn't be as good. Will be interesting to see who they plump for, long-term.

Looks like it's Gary Neville thats going to be 'Sky's' front man. Also did Andy Gray along with that Jimmy Rednapp not have a 'carry on ' on a B.A. flight from Spain last year where they were abusing the 'flight attendants' (if I recall correctly) . That was all swept upder the carpet very efficiently.
