After several days of no Internet in my new house, a BT engineer came and installed our line that had been disconnected, quite possibly be a Telewest engineer at some point.

I'm on NewNet 8020B 8Mbit broadband. Here's what my Vigor2800VG has to say:

I've only managed 4Mbps so far but it fluctuates a bit. I reckon the bRAS is still reconfiguring and that there's contention to deal with.

Still, I was rather annoyed to find the phone line dead when I moved in. The BT engineer daren't say who'd chopped the wire pointlessly, but all evidence points to Telewest from where I'm standing (the master socket near where the old line came in seems to be re-run to the Telewest box).

Anyone else had cable/phone related wiring issues?
