N299 - Max HDD size

Hi, I'm looking at picking up a couple of N299s but I'm a bit concerned by the max HDD size listed. According to the product page the maximum HDD size that can be used with these is 500gb, is this just out of date information or is the N299 not being updated for larger HDD sizes as they come out?

Ideally I would like to use these with 750gb HDDs - could someone with an N299 let me know if they have tried using drives larger than 500GB?

I'm using N299 with single WD 640GB HDD. It works very well.
I dont know why thecus didnt test any HDD larger than 500GB.
It's very esay to find a HDD 640GB HDD as well the 1TB in the market with reasonable price.

Hi,
drives larger 500 GB are usable; it might depend on the drives. I am using Samsung Spinpoint F1 750 GB which are working well.
I hope you have read about still missing harddisk spindown, know about the performance you can expect (the Gigabit network ports will always be far from being necessary, even fast ethernet speed will not be reached) and the problem of not starting after some weeks or months due to empty battery...
