Question N3200 Pro BT Download Settings?

    Hi there,
im desparately trying to get the BT Download working. There is no hint in the manual which ports are to be forwarded in the router for the 3200 pro torrent download client.

i have some downloads in the queue, but the do not show progress at all.

    found a post from Yvonne:
Following check list for your reference:
    1. N3200/N2100 taking port 2706 ~ 2106 for torrent download, thus please verify does any route or firewall blocke the service.
    2. Does N3200 with correct IP confiuration as like gateway or DNS configurated?
    3. Try with Fedora torrent from (...)
    4. Update to latest version V1.00.03

but i don't quite understand the part with the Ports: "2706 ~ 2106".

this seems to be a common issue for other thecus devices as well?
So could someone post a BT-Download howto covering router setup as well?
    Thanks a lot!

    Siegi

I have M3800 but it seems that N3200pro and M3800 shares some firmware.
So you can try to port forward 6881 to 6999 TCP.

    Best Regards
    Tony

    /QUOTE]

Tried that and other Ports as well, even deactivated firewall, but no Download Progress (with torrents, that work on PC-Client):
    All it says is:
    Percentage : 0.00%
    Size : 0.00MB/701.19MB
    Seed/Peer : 0/0

    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

I have the same issues on my M3800 as well, not sure what is going on I would hate to return my M38000 for a Synology DS408. No point in keep a product that does not work. Please keep me posted. Thanks

Re: N3200 Pro BT Download Settings?

    To summarize my working configuration:
    - M3800 connected directly to router using WAN port
    - M3800 with fixed ip address obtained trought dhcp reservation
    - Router with port range forwarding from 6881 to 6999 TCP -> 192.168.1.6 (M3800 address)
    - Firmware 1.00.04.2 (beta but it was working also with original firmware)

After adding task type BT I usually use a max upload bandiwidth of 32KB and then press "Start Task" button.

    Best Regards

Tony, thanks for your assistance, that worked. May I ask you what are you using for your LAN connection then or what was the intent to have a LAN and WAN? It is not like the M8300 is a full Router. Again thanks for your assistance.

Thumbs up Re: N3200 Pro BT Download Settings?

Yes, i want to thank you too, Tony!
Using WAN instead of LAN makes BT download work :0)

    @wooying:
found a thread with a short explanation of wan vs. lan here:
    thecusforum.eu/showthread.php?t=679

I dont quite understand it myself as i am not a network pro.
But so what! As long as it does it...

    Cheers and thank you guys!

Re: N3200 Pro BT Download Settings?

I'm not sure but I think that they call WAN the port that can go outside and LAN the port that you can use to "create" a lan. I don't know if you can use the two ports for band aggregation or failover but I don't think so because I can't find anything like this using web interface.
Now I'm only using WAN port.
And I think that they tie some service only to WAN port (like BT).

    Best Regards
    Tony
