    Re: N299 download manager

my experience is.... when NAS starts to download files (my case is bt), it will take 100% cpu time (shown in system-status)
The solution is to wait..... until the cpu is less busy.

    Dear Sir,

Please update to V1.00.29beta1 and load factory default to fix this issue:

    Re: N299 download manager

why is Thecus' only recommendation to upgrade to a BETA firmware, when this requires the user to lose all data!!

unless i'm reading other threads wrong, people have stated that to upgrade to the .29beta1 the RAID is lost!

    Re: N299 download manager

Hi Yvon, in this thread here:

    http://forums.hexus.net/thecus-care-...e-network.html

something about the .BIN being a problem I think...all I wan't to know is if I upgrade from .24 to .29beta1, will my RAID be lost? Or, do I need to delete my RAID to upgrade?

    thanks

    Re: N299 download manager

    Hi,

I have upgrade from .24 to .26 then to .29beta and then to .30.beta2 and I have not lost
data. There is nothing worse on upgrading.

    regards

    Re: N299 download manager

    Dear Sir,

    Seem some misunderstanding.......

Update from 1.00.24 to 1.00.29beta1 we just need load factory default to fix issues out.

IF updated to 1.00.29beta1 and load factory default didn't make thing better, the only way we could do is recreat RAID, or provide IP address for us to analysis possible reason....

    Yvon.

    Re: N299 download manager

    Yvon,

my current RAID and setup appears to be working fine, there is no issue...i just wanted to be sure that moving to .29beta1 from .24 wouldn't cause any damage to my current RAID...i.e. no data loss

but Iammer seems to have answered my question since he has upgraded twice with no data loss...(links to the beta files Iammer?)

Iammer, did you then reset to factory default following FW upgrade, or..?

    thanks!

    Re: N299 download manager

    Hi,

    1.) h ttp://thecus.com/downloads/beta
2.) no I don´t reset to factory defaults cause I created RAID after upgrading to 1.00.26 and the probs doesn´t apear after that. The other upgrades doesn´t effect to probs for me.

I think the issue with recreating RAID is only neccesary if you are on 1.00.24

    Re: N299 download manager

    OH,

you will not loose data only if you reset to factory default.
I would try in your case to upgrade maybe with step 1.00.26 up to 1.00.30beta2.
If your probs appears save data (...I know) set to factory defaults and recreate RAID.

    That works.

    regards
