N5500 RAID Create button greyed out

    Hello,

Why is my "Create" button greyed out and how do I fix it so I can create a second and third RAID volume on my N5500 (firmware 3.00.04)?

I have four Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31500341AS 1.5TB hard disk drives. I created Data1 volume as RAID 10 (ext3) across all four drives allocating 50%. With the remaining space, I want to create a Data2 volume as RAID 10 (ZFS) and a Data3 as RAID 0 (ext3) across all four drives, but I can't click the "Create" button in Menu > Storage > RAID.

I have rebooted multiple times and still can't click the "Create" button.

I would like to attach a screen shot showing "Create" greyed out and my conf.bin, but the posting rules state "You may not post attachments".

    Thanks,
    pcman

It seems You have misundertsood the principles.
You can't use one disc on different raids. The percent for data is the percent which is used for the data partition on this raid - the rest You can use for ISCSI or USBCOY partitions, which resides then also on the raid.

Re: N5500 RAID Create button greyed out

Thanks, Peter, for your reply. You’re right. I misunderstood the video tutorial “Thecus N5500 multiple RAID Setup (Part II)” when the presenter states, “Thecus NAS currently can support up to 3 different RAID volumes in one NAS system offering users great flexibility”. Yes, three different RAID volumes, but never more than one RAID volume per physical hard drive disks. I’m going to have to rethink my RAID setup.

    Again, thanks for your help,
