    4100pro slow transfert rate

    here a picture of my network

    main switch dell 5224

    thecus 4100pro configured LACP

    desktop windows 7 single 1gb nic

    when copying files i get an average speed of 10mb/sec to 13mb/sec

    inside the 4100pro i have 4x1.5TB seagate

    jumbo frames is enabled on the switch but not yet on the thecus....

    Hi,

    This Dell switch is quite old... since it is a managed switch, I would first verify the port statistics and double check that everything is well connected at 1GB. I could also suggest you to either force the Switch ports and all network cards at 1GB or try a few combinations... dealing with GB connections could be treaky.

    Since this is an intelligent switch, you may also have an MTU packet configuration and / or a manual support (or no support at all) for Jumbo frames.

    I use a cheap dumb Dlink switch and have the same other configuration as you... On write, I get about 20/25 MB/s and read can go up to 35/40 MB/s. Changing the MTU / Jumbo frame didn't do a lot (remember that you should use the same packet size on you PC and NAS and that the switch MUST support it). This result is when dealing with a SMB/Windows share on a RAID 5.

    Hope this will give you some ideas...
