Re: Problem with newly built PC

I've got another problem now =[

I've had my computer running perfectly but I believe it is overheating!

This had seriously impaired the computers performace, checking in BIOS shows that its running at around 50 degrees Celsius, when it should be at 38! How do I make the fans go faster/processor slow down as to not melt my lovely new processor?!

Why should it be 38 degrees?
Also, an underperforming PSU such as the EZCool range will not help the temps as the PSU is working well above what its designed for (even though the manufacturers dont tell you this).

Seems to be all to common that people buy PSUs in excess of what they require, your not doing yourself any favours... probably just getting yourself a bigger electricity bill. I have a system of similar spec and I've using a Corsair HX520 (modular, nice and tidy) and its more than adequate.

As for the temperatures, I don't see an HSF listed... I'm assuming stock? If you want lower temps check out the HSF in Blitzens signature or Arctic Freezer under my system both are good but mine is cheap and cheerful

ah, not compatible - well i was going to suggest that your motherboard was faulty. i'd change the motherboard as it'll be less expensive thatn getting a new CPU at that speed....but maybe YoYo can exchange your CPU?

The book that came with my Intel CPU said that it shouldn't be much more than that and would run stable at that temp.
