The link just worked for me.
It is 2x2 Gb DDR3 coming in both 1800 and 2000 Mhz. It will probably be too expensive to buy right away though, I might look for those ramsinks seperately and buy some basic bare crucial modules - 2 Gb DDR3 1066 Mhz, 1.5v - £43 per module and overclock them myself.
Too big. Lemme guess you can't fit 4 or 6 on a board right?
Yes you are right, you cant.
That is why I want to try and find some good bare chips and these ramsinks seperately - You can install them yourself the other way around on two modules, and then use 4 or 6 sticks. The modules where you buy them pre affixed will only allow you to use 2-3 sticks.
I've really only started looking into DDR3 for nehalem, but I'll wait untill prices fall in 3-6 months after release before buying the new socket.
These are the bare modules I considered buying to overclock:

I can buy 2-4 based on how much I manage to flog my pair of 3850's, and my current OCZ Flex-II is still worth a good penny second hand as it is the best DDR2 available, but it is dual slot ram as well (My combo motherboard only has 2x DDR2 slots so dual slot DDR2 didnt matter - I can upgrade to 4x DDR3 anytime).
The only problem is that the thermaltake ramsinks cant be found anywhere. I just want them in my PC, with 4-6 sticks so need to install them the opposite way around on one pair of modules to make them fit.
I cant find the pictures of the Ramorb right now, but they are pretty much the same size as my NB heatsink on my MSI board.

Ahhh so if you can alternate them then thats good I suppose. Could be a new thing to do when buying ram nowadays. Buy the ram and then your own heatsink
Quite a neat idea.
I found some 2 Gb 1333 Mhz modules for just £48:
http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/part...=CT25664BA1339
I think I will take the risk and try a pair. But they are out of stock and those thermaltake ramsinks still cant be bought anywhere yet.
Cas 9 1333 Mhz should easilly reach at least 1600 Mhz with 1.7-1.8v and some good heatspreaders like the thermaltake ones, plus they are cheap and I can still get around £90 for my OCZ Flex - II's second hand. I'll get two sticks first for my current system as a near - free upgrade from selling my Flex-II's, then if they are good and reach 1600 Mhz I can buy one more in the future after an X58 upgrade, I'll probably wait untill next year before getting X58 though. It also keeps me prepared for the X58 upgrade, and I get rid of my premium DDR2 ram while it is still worth something.
Now I just need to start emailing both Crucial and Thermaltake for availability of the stuff.
Oh yea, to use them in triple channel with up to 6 sticks, you just install the heatspreader the otherway around on three modules. I can buy two now, then more when they become uber cheap in a years time, providing they OC well.
The only thing I dont like is that when I do upgrade my motherboard, I lose the copper loop on the NB. MSI X58 Platinum will be the obvious choice for me once the price comes down:
http://www.nordichardware.com/news,8162.html
Launch price on the Platinum is expected to be 225 Euro / £180, which is expensive, but I wait for a reduction and just sell my X48 and make some of it back
Just need to wait for prices on the Nehalem CPU's too, Hopefully there will be cheap dual core ones available at first... Oh, I hope my Asus Silent Knight II will still work on X58.
Coool, look at these Thermaltake ramsinks:

The angle is adjustable so you can fit them into adjacent slots.
None of them can be bought yet though.

Thermalright HR07 Duo

Can fit as many as you like in a row, one up, one down

Think you will find that almost all heat spreaders are aluminium including the Thermaltake ones!
But if you did want to get them then they are available here, http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...cat=206&page=1
Oh and you do realise that the heat transfer is limited by the slowest step which in this case will be the aluminium heat spreader so having copper fins is of little to no benefit.
Well if its all about bling then why didn't you say so!
Move to the wet side and get some water cooling goodnessout blings air cooled copper any day of the week!
Because copper looks purty, like gold but its copper =D
MIPS Ram freezer,

I'm sure you can get it without the Nickel plating as well if Copper colour is preferred.
The real reason for the lack of nice ram blocks is the is no real need to water cool memory, stock heatspreaders do the job well enough.
Oh and the original Flex heatsinks are ok for all 4 slots as long as the is a small gap between each slot if they are touching then the sinks are to wideof course you can always turn one pair of sinks round so its not a problem. The Flex 2 sinks are on the other hand enormous and made of aluminium which is a no no for me, mixed metals bad!
Same here. The Flex - II's were good on my current board, but now I'm moving onto DDR3 I will want to eventually be able to use all the slots.
All cheap Crucial 1333 Mhz sticks were out of stock, eventually I found these two:
Crucial ones a little more pricier at £54 each:
http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(38602)...v-240-Pin.aspx
Unbranded Novatech ones:
http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s...tml?RAM-310/2G
I went with the Crucial ones for £15 more then they were from Crucial themselves, but they are out of stock:
http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/part...KIT25664BA1339
They were pricier then I initially expected to pay, but microdirect were the only place with them in stock for the lowest price (other places were charging £60).
I'll see how well they do, if they reach 1600 Mhz, then that was a magic purchase. If not it was a waste of money, but I get my copper ramsinks at last, and they are still faster then what I had before. Bumping them up to 1.8v with the Thermaltake ramsinks should allow for some decent overclocking, or so I hope.
The Ramsinks were only listed as DDR1 + DDR2 compatible, but the dimensions of DDR2 + 3 modules are identical, and I managed to find someone that has attached them to DDR3, so that was enough to know they will work. I'll probably have to use thermal tape to hold them on instead of grease, still better then nothing.
Also, whenever I buy an X58, I just need to buy one more module, which makes it easier.
I'll upgrade the ram again if bare 1600 Mhz sticks become available, but I'll stick with these untill then. I'm not paying almost twice as much for a Cas 7 1600 Mhz kit.
