Yeah the zero g stuff was amusing at first, but now I'm just yearning for solid ground.

Love the way you can make it look exactly the same as the DX10 version on windows XP - and it runs smoother than it does on Vista
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

    To answer the OP's question
1280x1024 on High settings gives me 25min-30avg fps (dx10 codepath). Playable but not ideal.

    Re: The Crysis Thread

The Catalyst 7.11 Crysis Hotfix driver rocks!

After loading a save game in the jungle:

    7.10 DX9:
    • 20-21 FPS

    7.11 DX9:
    • 29-30 FPS

    7.10 DX10:
    • 18-19 FPS

    7.11 DX10:
    • 27-28 FPS

After loading a save game overlooking the sea-side enemy base in first level:

    7.10 DX9:
    • 17-18 FPS

    7.11 DX9:
    • 25-26 FPS

    7.10 DX10:
    • 14-15 FPS

    7.11 DX10:
    • 19-21 FPS

But the best part: No more graphical glitches from even the slightest overclock. At a hefty OC of 858/900:

    Jungle:

    758/900 7.11 DX9:
    • 34-35 FPS

    758/900 7.11 DX10:
    • 29-30 FPS

    Overlooking bay:

    758/900 7.11 DX9:
    • 28-29 FPS

    758/900 7.11 DX10:
    • 19-21 FPS

Still graphical glitches when overclocked in DX10, and speed didn't seem to increase at all overlooking the bay. But for how I first played the game through (dx9), I now have a playable FPS increase of 65.5% average from these two scenes . Pretty chuffed.

Hello, I have the following Rig:

    Intel Core2 Duo 6600 @2.4GHZ
    ASUS GeForce 7950GT 512MB
    ASUS P5B-E (Intel P965chip set)
    2GB DDR-2 800MHZ HyperX Kingston
    Sound Blaster live 5.1!

What frames per sec should I expect from Crysis (Full Game, not demo) at High details, DX9 & 1280 x 1024?
    Thanks in advance.

About 15 if you're lucky. This game *needs* an 8800 for High details really.

Crysis Hardware Performance Guide - Features at GameSpot

Apparently most of the current hardware is having a hard time keep those frames smooth in Crysis.
Another case of un-optimized rushed out game engine?

At least when Doom3, Quake 4 & Half Life 2 came out, they run very well on the best hardware of the time.

I don’t even think it’s worth buying any of the beefed up 8800 gfx cards at the moment. It would be best to go straight for the next generation 9 nvidia gfx cards along with the upcoming patches and fixes for Crysis.
My guess is that they’ll be available around January-February.

I pity all those hardware gicks who constantly spend their money just be up to date, only to find that their rig is obsolete the minute they buy it!

Oh well, tuff luck then huh?!

    Re: The Crysis Thread

It runs pretty well once you tweaked a custom config fit for you, first make a autoexec.cfg and put it in the Crysis/Game Dir you can make it using notepad, then go to incrysis.com and get the console commands then just go down the list changing each one and seeing what effect it has on your system and if you can do without it or have it set of low, some things you can remove and you proberly wont even tell the difference and gain like 5fps extra, once you changed a setting in the console and are happy with that setting copy and paste it you your autoexec.cfg, what i did was find a pretty demanding scene where my fps went low and then edited the config settings there until i was like from 12fps to 20fps, then other sections on the maps i would be about 30-35fps, i play on high to veryhigh settings at 1280x1024. Good Luck

Btw this is serously the best game ive played since i played the first Half-Life so long ago.

    Re: The Crysis Thread

What is multiplayer like? Are there many servers/players? Having a good MP aspect is important to me because it lets me enjoy a game for a hell of a lot longer than the SP. I've heard mixed reviews of Crysis SP so am hoping the MP is decent.

It's quite good. Just have to find a good server that suits you. It's a great idea, but they should have made Power Struggle a bit more like BF2 in the tactical sense (having squads would be nice). People dont tend to work as a team much.

if I didn't like Far Cry, am I likely to like it? I liked the bit of far cry in the boat (going around the corridors near the beginning) but really hated and feared the wide open outdoor bits.

    Re: The Crysis Thread

Hmm, well the wide open bits kinda funnel you into the right direction, by being either in a valley, or between a beach and a cliff if you get what I mean. Yes it's wide open, but it's obvious where you're supposed to be going, and you can't completely venture off into the wild blue yonder. With that in mind it's not too bad. The Zero G bits will annoy you without fail, but they're fairly short and over with quickly. There's not much that's actually indoors, most of it is jungle based combat.
