AVG often tags CD protection software asa virus. Switch to NOD32 or Avast! if it bugs you to much.
It happened on the new Company of Heroes too.
It doesn't play any better than the demo
What is weird is that in the ingame benchmarks I get cpu avg 29fps gpu avg28 fps but in the game with fraps I get about 26 fps avg??
This is at 1280x1024 all high settings with XP.
Oh and this doesn't use all of my cpu about 80% on 2 cores and maybe 10-30% on the other 2 ..suppose thats ok.
I'm using the 169.09 beta drivers...are there better ones available or coming soon?
Q6600, 8800gts 320mb, 2gb 800mhz ram, XP.
1024*768 medium and 2x AF, is just about okay..
eek!

I've been playing this for hours this evening! Finally going to pack it in and do something else now though!
I first installed it on Vista. it looks _stunning_ but ran very, very badly. I dont know how to check the FPS, but it was LOW.
Anyway I installed on XP and it's running smooth as, not quite as pretty but great fps.
Using 1920x1200,everything at max, no AA though. 2x AA is okay, but I'd rather smoother gameplay.
I have heard that some improved drivers and patches may come out in the next few weeks so hopefully this will translate to slightly better framerates!!
Argh I'm stuck in the "mine", looks like some sort of puzzle, cant figure it out though.
Looking at Stoos specs I will have no chance of running it! Or a least a bit less that what he has!
Patch may sort out the performance issues as will ATI sorting drivers out. Definately holding off for a little while with this one, will invest in a socket 939 dual core processor first methinks!
I started doing the usual thing with new games and after install and defrag, I've begun playing, to mess with the settings, making sure that I dont really 'play' it more than the demo. I have a 24" monitor with native of 1920x1200 so I wanted to be able to get a playable game at that.
Tried the advanced settings and fiddled with that. Have to admit that it didnt run that well. It was about 25 fps, although quite noticable not smooth during combat. Hmmph
However, last night, i went to tweakguides (that dude is a saviour) and read the guidfe about creating your own sytem.cfg file - and started experimenting with variables. The first thing that i did was to turn on vsync and tripplebuffering. Believe me when i say that made a huge difference, not especially so in frame rate, but the lack of tearing meant that you could really see every detail - I wasnt so impressed with the graphics before, GoW looked more stunning IMO - but i was starting to understand what the fuss was about. The triple buffering also made a difference for me, in that it really smoothed out the play. The fps count was still around 25-30, then about 20 lowest in combat, BUT - with the buffering on, it was completely playable even at 20
Then I pretty much enabled tha major things that make Crysis spectacular - the sunbeams through trees, the better water, parallax occ mapping, and still the same fps, but still smooth, but even prettier! My favourite tweak though, was turning on the colour treatment. This is usually for those who have Very high, but this changes the hue of the game to be slightly more 'processed' with everything having a more sepia tone to it, opposed to being so vibrant. Tough to explain - go to tweakguides and you'll see screens to illustrate.
So I've got rid of the tearing and motion blur, the things that really annoyed me, and turned up things like physics, and turned down things i wont notice so much and its made the game very playable. it has to be the smoothest 25fps Ive ever played. This is not on the newest set of drivers, its on the last offical set, and I dont want to change them as GoW plays great too. But with all the tweaks, I found myself getting more immersed and although initially i didnt really care for the game, i know I'm going to love it!!! This fps is the same, with only a small difference at even 1024x768 - I gues that means that I am CPU bottlenecked right?
Try out the guide - its very useful - have a go at the tweaks i mentioned and see if it makes a difference to you!

PS - One last thing - If you are arent playing on Delta, then you can still make everyone talk Korean with a tweak and its Waaaay better than broken 'takeaway-style-engrish'... I'm chinese and the crap accent when they speak english just annoys me Another good tweak to try! Game on!

I shall have to try that me thinks.
Crysis put my optimal settings at high at first (same as demo). I started playing, and although it was much smoother than the demo on the same settings, 15 FPS still wasn't enough, so I had to move back down to medium where I got about 30 FPS.
I defiantly think the full version is more optimised than the demo and I'd have found it difficult to move about properly in the demo under high settings. On the full version, it's only really a problem when in combat.
