    UPDATE:

I received the NEW PSU today, so thanks to EMERMAX Support for their help

I've now managed to get Windows XP installed but each time it restarted I had to keep clearing the CMOS.

I've flashed the Bios with the updated 1 (beta11) thinking this will cure the problem, but no matter what I do I have to keep clearing the Bios to start the computer up.

I'll give ABIT Support a ring tomorrow and hopefully they will be able to help me.

    Sooooooo..........

    ABIT Support 10/10
    EMERMAX Support 10/10
www.lootsale.co.uk 0/10 (never will I buy from them again)

    UPDATE:

Today I thought right, I'll get the comp booted up into windows and phone ABIT Support and take it from there. I couldn't even get the comp booted up, kept getting the 8.7 error again. Bit by bit I stripped the comp down trying to get it past the 8.7 error, no matter what I did I got no joy.

Phoned ABIT support and explained to M what I had managed to get done etc, after trying different things the comp still would not boot past 8.7.

The outcome at the moment is...

I've been given a RMA Number and address to send it to Sean to have the m/board checked.
Once again ABIT Support has been 10/10 so a Big THXS to M & Sean

Didnt notice the type of memory you have, but going by the Abit USA forums those with SLI memory (mostly the OCZ 8500 sli with EPP) are having problems with every bios except 1.0

the other bios's (betas 5,6) including last 1.1 release wont allow you to save bios configuration and on every reboot will cause checksum error. going back to bios 1.0 and everything works.

Its not really understood whats going wrong but it seems to only effect those with SLI EPP memory. Ive tried everything, but only bios 1.0 will work properly with my OCZ 8500 1066 mem. (2GB). settings just wont lock with 1.1 and beta bios's

I've got 4GB of memory which is 2 sets of

    Geil® Ultra DDR2 2.0GB PC6400 Dual Channel memory kit (2 x 1GB) 800MHz

Sean should receive the m/board today so hopefully this problem will be resolved
