    this might sound like a stupid question but....

    will the fatal1ty FN-IN9 SLI support DDR3 RAM when it comes out?

    No. DDR3 is not backward compatbile with DDR2 memory controllers like the FP-IN9's NForce 650i.

    Intel's P35 chipset will be the first to hit the market supporting DDR3. If DDR3 adoption is anything like DDR2, I wouldn't worry about it yet. Firstly, latency is higher, and secondly, the FSB on current Intel CPUs is technically saturated by dual channel DDR2-533 anyway

    Even when FSB1333 parts start to hit the market you'll only need DDR2-667 for optimal performance. It's only when you start to overclock that you need fast RAM!

    will it be like DDR--->DDR2 as far as like the notch position, so you can't accidentally fit it?
