thanks for your help. i looked at the graphics card, and just tried to put it in for the hell of it and it worked
i found of the reason it wouldnt boot and stay on 8.2 was because i have an 8pin i didnt see that could be split to make 2 4 pins
it now kinda works. but i have a problem with the instaling. its saying please insert system disk. wich i assume is the windows disk?
it wont read it when i put it in. you know why?

You need to set the first boot device to be "CDROM" (or your CD drive name) - then it will boot from the CD and start the installation

Is it an original windows disk (be honest - we wont lecture you!) ?

The QuadGT had an issue like this where the BIOS needed to be updated before hand, but im hoping this isn't the case as its going to be a bit scary.

In your BIOS setup you can specify a boot sequence. If your hard disk is blank or if a device doesn't contain a bootable disk the BIOS would continue to the next device in the boot sequence. In your case I would make sure that the sequence reads CDROM before hard disk or if you installed a floppy drive I would make the floppy the 1st drive, then CDROM, then hard disk.

    Regards
