    Nasty high pitched whistle AV8

Hi, I have an AV8 3rd eye and recently when I run WEI or a new game such as Lost Planet, I get a very high pitched and nasty whistle or bleep from the mobo. My first thought was something was tripping up the uguru bleep warning, so I disabled them all, intending to reinstate them one by one to find where the issue was. The trouble is I have disabled all bleeps individually and still get the awful noise. Its more like a little "chirp" when the game first starts, but with Vista WEI its all the time the GPU is tested. I have an XFX 7800 gs, 550w psu AV8 3rd eye and AMD 4200*2.

    Any ideas gratefully accepted!

Possibly a Can about to blow.
They do this on any kind of PCB when they are faulty or about to blow.

Take a look and see if any are leaking?

Hi thanks for the reply. Not the case, the sound is coming from the boards speaker, no leaking capacitors.

If its comming from the speaker it could be a bad connections or a short.

I cant see how really, as it only kicks in when running WEI or a little blip when GPU engages in an intensive game.

I found the cause, it was the GPU, drawing power, I also have two fans which ran off the same rail. Putting these fans on the Mobo, "Swapping rails" resolved the issue.

    Thanks for the help.
