If running with 4 x (mine are 1GB crucial ballistix 8500) memory modules, make sure you increase MCH voltage. I am still monitoring the situation, but I seem to have eliminated all my computers instability problems with my Q6600 over clocked to 3GHZ.

Re: **Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

    Hi Steve

If your still checking out this thread, is there any chance of posting your settings ie timings/voltages in regards to the 4 sticks of crucial ballix 8500.
I have a pain in my ass trying to get the 4 stix of the exact same memory on the ip35pro stable. Various timing & voltage settings have been tried with ever decreasing results.
Each stick runs fine on its own or in pairs in various slot configurations & they all pass memtest individually, so I believe my settings are insufficient to keep the the 4 stix working stable.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks & best regards
    Mark V

    PS: I am considering 2 x 2gb G.Skill pi 8800 1.8v instead, anybody used these on ip35pro ?

Re: **Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

Hello, this is my first post here and I'd like some advice for a new processor I've bought and want to install on my ip35pro.
Right now I've got a E6600 oc'd to 3.2 and I'm running bios version 17 and everything is great.
I just bought a E8500 and plan to run it with my OCZ Reaper 4G PC2-8500 DDR2 and oc it to 3.8 or more. I've got an Artic Freeze cooler attached to my processor now which I will switch over to the new processor if necessary.
What else do I need i.e. newest bios, EO stepping files, etc?
Thanks ahead of time for any help.

Re: **Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

so I just got back from vacation with 16GB of pictures and every time I look for a picture, my thumbnails loads very slowly (approx 1 min).

mucked around my BIOS, loaded Ace-a-Rue suggestion

    Good: Thumbnails now loads uber-fast
Bad: It also cleared all my recent programs....FF3 bookmarks...forgot create a restore point
Good: Got tons more space on my HD....

well after loading some my backups from my USB flash drive, I forgot to remove it during restart.

Now LED post is at 50, which says I have to clear CMOS.
So I did with the external RESET button, the inside RESET button, shorted the 3-pin, removed the battery for 5 secs....and I'm still stuck at 50 error...the only thing USB connected is my kb/mouse

    any other suggestions?

    UPDATE!!!
I removed my USB Front Panel connection.....anything that goes into USB I removed! I'm using the PS/2 keyboard and mouse ATM.

Now, about the missing files which resulted in increased HD space...for some reason, the BIOS update, switch my HD boot order

flashing a BIOS will always reset settings incl. boot order.
It shouldn't however, actually affect any files on your drives.

Re: **Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

after muddling around some more, I discovered a switch.

I didn't actually gain any HD space.

what happened was that, I have one actually drive, formatted with C with WinXPPRO and that's it.
the D has all the Program, Apps, download back ups...

So when it got switched, I thought my D drive lost my programs and gained HD space.

Is there a way to switch them back without affecting the Registry so much.

Another Option is load my Win7 into C drive....naw! one problem at a time

Re: **Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

    TRAUMA FIXED!!!
It was definitely a case of senility

I was two physical HD....not one HD partitioned into two.

It was Western Digital and a Samsung Spinpoint....I initially thought the Samsung was a DVD-ROM until I saw my Asus DVD-ROM

So it was a case of Boot Priority.

Now I'm happily back to my slow thumbnail preview

you can't discuss this on Hexus as it's against the software licence & Hexus can't allow that type of discussion.
