My gut feeling is that the board is OK & that it's something else causing it.
However, you could try a new BIOS chip in case that has problems or as you are in the US abit had a 3 year warranty there so you could just sneak in an RMA - but in the 3rd year there was a charge (iirc $25).

8.3 tends to be PSU related though.
    Hi Buff,

I had actually created a separate thread for this at

    h ttp://forums.hexus.net/abit-care-hexus/190979-ip35-pro-wont-boot-w-o-cmos-clearing.html

    Config:

    Ip35 PRO, 2 X 2 GB Gskill ddr2, Corsair TX 750, MSI 8800 GT OC. E2140 (1.6) running at 3 Ghz all the time.

I tried the following, I removed all the items except cpu, mobo, gfx card, and installed a PSU which I removed from the old system. Now the LED digits moves past the 8.3 and reaches 7F(or something like that). I believe this is not completely booting because I have not connected the wire going into the graphics card as the old PSU does not have 6 pin graphics card connector.

This means the MOBO seems ok. BUT...

Iam still not convinced that the Corsair 750 TX PSU has gone bad. I will try putting it into my old system and check if that system boots.

BTW I read that this mobo acts weird with low voltage on Power good line. So what is the minimum voltage does this mobo need to boot?

    Thanks,
    Vinay.

7F means that the mobo is awaiting input from you - try hitting the F1 key.
you are going to need to supply power to the 8800GT 6-pin socket though afaik.

However, it does seem to suggest that the mobo is OK.
Sorry, I don't know the minimum voltage required.

Re: Abit IP35 Pro - Won't Boot now

Regarding the power supply issue. I had fallen prey to this issue and after much discussion on the message boards that included Abit reps and a representative from Corsair, all we could determine is that, despite their inability to replicate the problem in their labs (believe me they tried alot):

the Abit IP35 Pro (and probably other IP35 boards, I don't know 'cause I wasn't paying attention to that) PLUS a power supply that has more than one 12v power rail, such as the Corsair HX and many others at the time MAY combine to cause the problems you are having.

The reason that the issue was soooo hard to diagnose is that sometimes changing the PSU would fix the problem. Other times changing the Mobo fixed the problem. And sometimes neither fixed the problem.

So all Abit, Corsair, and others were able to determine is this:
    1. The COMBINATION of (a) the IP35 Pro mobo AND (2) a power supply with only 1, high-amp 12v rail worked every time; and
    2. The COMBINATION of (a) the IP35 Pro mobo AND (2) a power supply with several 12v rails with lower ampage tended to work for most people, not work us unlucky folks, or work for a time (weeks, months, even years) then stop working. The strangest thing of all, however, is once this problem surfaces, it will not go away no matter now many times you replace the PSU and/or Mobo UNLESS, when doing so.... you ensure to meet the requirements in COMBINATION No. 1, above.

So the fix: Replace the PSU with one that has a single high-amp rail such as those made by PC Power and Cooling (the 610 silencer did the trick for me). Or... replace the Motherboard with another, non-IP35 Abit board (not ideal since a new Mobo will require drivers different than those already installed on your boot drive and render your Windows installation unstable at best and unbootable at worst).

I literally spent months hammering this out with experts on the Abit boards... hopefully this "solution" can spare those of you having this problem the same ordeal.

I just want to give a shout out to this guy. I had this same issue last week and had already gotten a replacement mobo and had the same issue. Both mobo's work but I went out today, got a solid CoolerMaster Silent Pro 850 which has a single 12V rail up to 66amps and the computer booted with no issues at all. If you run into this issue, replace the powersupply first!!!

Re: Abit IP35 Pro - Won't Boot now

    Hi Guys,

If you see my last post I had the same issue, I had the 750 tx which has a single 12 V rail.

The problem is now solved. HOW? Coz the PSU was bad. the Power good voltage was at 4.2 V and obviously the Mobo wont boot.

Now Iam using a local temporary PSU, till I get my corsair repaired.
No problem at all with my cheap 50$ 7 year old PSU.

    Hope this helps.

Mine is doing the same... Problems to Boot at powerUP, That only can be partially solved using sleep... But If you power-Off the Abit IP35 PRO, you will have to press the Power Bottom sometimes for about 3-8 Minutes!!

Did Anyone Here knows Any Work Arround or Something to Fix this Boot Problem?

Any Help will be greattly appreciate!!
I have had this problem too, I removed the mobo battery and tested it, was on borderline after 3 years of use, I suspect it was in the mobo for a some time before I bought it. Since I renewed the battery all went back to normal. (Don't forget to reset CMOS if you remove battery). Hope this helps!

Re: Abit IP35 Pro - Won't Boot now

Hey, I've been trying to troubleshoot my own ABIT IP35 Pro Mobo which recently started giving me errors after I reformatted and put in a new wireless card (I get the error with and without the card)
The error I was originally getting was error 50: Initialize USB
But now it has changed to error code 25:
    Early PCI Initialization:
    -Enumerate PCI bus number.
    -Assign memory & I/O resource
-Search for a valid VGA device & VGA BIOS, and put it into C000:0

Does anybody know what this means?

A little background: I have had this computer for about two and a half years and all of the parts have been working perfect until recently
