    AW9D-Max

I've had Corsair 1x2GB PC2-6400 C4 XMS2 running on happily for about a year because the price of ram is so cheap now I decided to get another set. The problem is when I populate the mobo's 4 dimms it will not post. I've downloaded and flashed to the latest bios for the mobo, tried the new set of ram and they are working fine. I'm running the voltage at 2.1 as recommended by Corsair.

Anyone else experience any problems with 2Gb+ ram or have any suggestions what to do?

    Re: AW9D-Max

try increasing MCH voltage - 4 DIMMS is more stressful for the memory controllers.

    Re: AW9D-Max

Got it to post with 2.2V but froze on the Vista loading screen. Went step by step to 2.35V and still no success. The next step is 2.45V (which seemed a lot) so I didn't bother.

I've read a few other threads and it seems a similar problem with other mobos (I don't know why so many manufactures say it supports up to 8Gb when a lot of people are struggling with 4Gbs). Should I be upping my MCH and CPU voltage, will that help?

    Thats odd.
I ran 4 x 1gb OCZ Platinum PC6400 on an AW9D-Max for over a year without issue (or voltage increase).

Are you certain that one of the sticks isnt faulty?

What BIOS are you using? One of them (pulled from website) can't boot with RAM in (iirc) slot 3.

Knock it back to 15 to see if it improves.

Will try 15 but I'm unsure if that will make much difference.
