    sl-in9, booting from cd

    hi all, trying to boot from cd to install a second OS

    ive enabled boot from other device, whats the Fkey to press to bring up the booting options to choose ?

    That's not where that option is for. If "boot other device" is enabled it will look for another bootable device in the second and third priority if booting from the 1st boot device failed.

    You just need to put CD-ROM as first boot device.

    i do that then when it come back around to restart after copying files it tries to boot from cd, but trys to install from scratch, if i then bios it to hdd boot, it comes up saying there is an error, something like boost disk something.

    After the first reboot (after copying the files) just let it boot and don't press any key. Normally it should proceed with the installation then.

    ah mabe there is a problem with the install then, ill try again in the morning and report back
