[EDIT]: Nevermind, issue has been resolved.
Just installed a new CPU today in my machine, and for some reason the machine won't display anything on screen but it really does seem like it's booting everything in. The graphics card fan is going to 8v from 12v as I have that set in the BIOS, and I can hear the hard drive working. The board also has a red and green light next to the 24 pin power, both are lit (which is correct - red for power, green for "on").
Tried 2 different graphics cards, 2 different types of DDR2 in various combinations in the board. I've also tried resetting the CMOS on a few occassions, it doesn't help. The CPU replace was from a Q6600 to a E8400. The board was flashed to v17 of the BIOS prior to installing the E8400.
When I turn it on, it does one of the following:
- Gets to 8.3 then turns off (very rare, once in 50 power ups)
- Stops around F.1 (very rare, twice in 50 power ups)
- Loops around 3 codes which are: C1 -> C3 -> 25 (near all the time)
I've read what the codes mean and it appears to be this:
25 Early PCI Initialization:-Enumerate PCI bus number.-Assign memory & I/O resource-Search for a valid VGA device & VGA BIOS, and put it into C000:0 00->C1->C3-> Stop at 25 BGA error Change graphic cards or unplug card and plug card back in again
Which sounds like my problem, but I've two different graphics cards and both get stuck at this C1 > C3 -> 25 loop.
[EDIT]: Sorry, forgot to mention... I get the C1 -> C3 - > 25 error looping whether the graphics card is in the board or not. It also happens on board PCI-E lanes.
Anyone have any tips?
