you start by helping us to help you.
It helps others to help you if they know exactly what you are dealing with so please supply a full system specification incl. make & models.
If you put it in your sig. or "my system" then you only have to do it once.

    Re: booting problem

have you set the memory voltages/timings correctly?
are you getting any beep codes?

but we really do need a spec list to do anything....

    do fans spin up?
can you get into the BIOS screen?

hmmm, i wonder if it's that case of IP35's not liking some 12v rails again? see HERE

    Re: booting problem

have you checked the 24pin and the 4/8pin connectors?

it may have been a problem that was solved in a later BIOS revision... so i would RMA the board and let them flash the BIOS for you.

but before you do that, try booting with just the bare minium in the system, (i.e. 1 stick of RAM CPU MOBO) and see if it will POST them...

but it is quite a widespread problem... so i would RMA it and get them to send you a new one (or yours but re-flashed) ...

theres a plethora of posts on various forums about it unfortunatly

    Re: booting problem

assuming that the ATX12V1 is connected (most common cause of 8.7. is it not being) I suspect that it doesn't have a 45nm compatable BIOS so will need flashing using a 65nm CPU or a BIOS chip swap.

yes or no, when you RMA they may just reflash the BIOS and send you the same one back... or they may flash another and send you that... (or if you have the equipment/know someone with it, you could flash the BIOS chip yourself...)

where did you buy it from?

    Re: booting problem

Return Merchandise Authorization is where you return the board to the supplier and arrange for a repair or replacement or credit to your account.

and there aren't many other options... as it is a known problem with those boards...

it's no more of a problem on this mobo than any other.
the difference is that with a POST reporter it narrows it down more.
