    ip35 pro code 49 problem

Hi All, Recently i have been having problems getting my comp started up (from cold). The digital display on the mobo stops at #49 and just hangs there. My specs are:-

    Abit Ip35 pro Ver 17 BIOS - Q6600 @ 2.4ghz 266 x 9 1.2750V - 4 x 1gb Crucial Ballistix PC8500 @ 1066 2V 5-5-5-15

    XSPC Pro Water Cooler - Hiper 580w modular PSU - Sapphire HD3870 512mb - Plextor PX800a - PX116a.

Western Digital - 80gb (OS) - 500gb (storage) - Imon PCI remote - Aerocool Gatewatch - Multi card reader.

Hiper Anubis Case - 2 x 120mm fans - OCZ Memory cooler (twin fans). XP-Home

The system has been running fine for a while now but this has only started happening over the last few days?

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance

    1. Calculate total memory by testing the last double word of each 64K page
    2. Program writes allocation for AMD K5 CPU (obviously not relevant for you)

the next step in the boot process is
    4E
    1. Program MTRR of M1 CPU
    2. Initialize L2 cache for P6 class CPU & program CPU with proper cacheable
so it's probably failing on that

i see that you are running 4x1Gb DIMMs - have you adjusted mch voltage at all?

1.33v would be good when running 4 dimm's. Also run Memtest on the memory and see if its coming up with any errors.

Re: ip35 pro code 49 problem

Cheers guys it all back and purring like a Rolls Royce!!! I noticed the cpu temps have dropped a few degrees after i did this change, is it just coinsidental? I also raised my mem voltage to 2.2 which a freind told me to try.

    Thanks again

    Mark
