    Possibly a daft question..

    ...but Ill ask anyway.

Can the 2nd PCI-e slot on an IP35 Pro be used for other things? The manual just refers to it as the 2nd graphics card slot.

Only asking as Im thinking of putting a PCI-e 1x card in there, since the 1x slot on board is rather too close to the primary graphics slot.

I know that the early generation dual graphics boards had split the lanes from 16x to 8x/8x if you used both slots, and the IP35 Pro doesnt say that, it just says the 2nd slot will run at 4x.

Like i said, daft question, but the manual isnt very helpful.

not a daft question and yes you can do that with no problem. The PCIe slot may be x16 but takes the x1 and x4 cards without any problems. The reference to another gfx card is simply because thats what alot of peeps use it for
