    Fatal1ty FP-IN9 no display

I have had the setup in my system spec for two years now and up until yesterday morning i never had any problems. I turned the PC on and there was no display going through to the monitors.

I read on various other threads to take all of the hardware out of the system and hoover and spray with compressed air which i did. No change.

The LED on the motherboard is lt up before i even turn the system on which it always has done and when i power up all of the hardware starts: two hard drives, Graphics card, CPU fan and the dvd burner also works.

There are no system beeps to tell me there is a hardware issue of any kind.

I am stumped and i am kind of hoping i wont have to invest in a new motherboard at this crrent time.

Anyone had a simular problem or can help me rescue my PC?

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

hoovering isn't a good idea as you can get a static discharge & kill things that way.

There are no system beeps to tell me there is a hardware issue of any kind.
do you have a system speaker installed?

try with just 1 DIMM installed.
do you have access to other hardware to help you troubleshoot?

    Re: Fatal1ty FP-IN9 no display

The 1st thing I would do is test with another known good PSU.
I've seen more than once were a power supply would power up a rig as tho it was still good
    but was a failed PSU.

    Re: Fatal1ty FP-IN9 no display

Ok so i have now tested with a new power supply(brand new) with no luck at all the system is still doing the same thing.

Its going to be a little harder for me to get hold of a graphics card or motherboard. Is there any more suggestions before i work my ass off to get hold of some other bits?

    Thanks again in advance.

    Re: Fatal1ty FP-IN9 no display

I have now tried my graphics card in another system and it works fine.

Tried a new power supply in my system and it don't work.

Is it now that my motherboard is not working properly- which i cant understand because all graphics cards, hard drive and dvd-rw are still working.

Is there anything else i can try other than getting a new motherboard in?

Thanks for the help in advance.

    Re: Fatal1ty FP-IN9 no display

Man try to make a full clear cmos, also remove the batery from the board and let some 15 min off line.

Remove and clean with pencil rubber the SLI Card. You must clean both sides... Could be a problem with the contacts. Also do the same with the memory modules.

    Good luck dude !

Did you removed and cleaned the SLI Card ? Try both positions SLI and Normal mode and make tests.

Yeah i did do this and did it to the ram sticks too - Nothing.
I was speaking to someone at college today and they seem to think it is a problem with the bios chip.

Is there any chance they are correct? If so has anyone did it to this motherboard before and could they help me with this process?

    thanks in advance

    Re: Fatal1ty FP-IN9 no display

Ive seen on ebay bios chips for my motherboard, is it worth buying one off there and trying it?

They're going for around £10/$16 which will be a waste if it aint the bios.

Any other way for me to find this out?

Lots of economy PSUs will claim figures that they will never get anywhere near in real usage plus it's not only about Wattage but also about current & how it's all divided into the rails etc. etc.

Ok, you've changed monitor cable but have you tested the monitor?

Not totally sure about the power supply cos i tested it and took it back. I was only trying to power the motherboard and the graphics card so it shouldn't have struggled. Just wanted to get the bios screen up on the display.

Yeah i have tested the monitor as i have it running off my laptop atm cos of my no desktop pc.

    Re: Fatal1ty FP-IN9 no display

Be interested to see if you've got to the bottom of this...? I'm seeing the same problem with mine.

One way I have found to get mine working, is this: when it's in the 'hung' state (e.g. mine is all powered on with LEDs and fans going, but no video or POST beeps), if you quickly cycle the power rocker switch on the back of the PSU (e.g. off then on), mine strangely starts working again!!

Not sure this practice does it any good tbh! ...but you do get a VGA POST, and then the mobo starts POSTing too.

Would lend to the argument it's power related. Going to try a different PSU next.
