I have an Abit Ip35 motherboard, and when I first assembled the parts it would not boot. I later found out it was because my ram, (OCZ PC2 6400 Gold Edition XTC), requires 1.9 volts, and I think the default was 1.5. Anyhow, when playing around with it, I found that the odd time it'd let me boot into bios with the wrong volts, I then set it to the proper amount and has been fine since.
Now I've had to reset my settings, and find myself unable to boot again. Since I'm unable to boot at all with this Ram, I am wondering what ram I should buy so I know that it will work. The sticky thread mentions "Corsair 4GB XMS2 DHX DDR2 PC2-6400 (2x2GB) CAS5", is that different from XMS2 without the "DHX" tag? I want to be absolutely sure that it will work with the defualt settings, and I don't want to pay $200 just for some ram to only boot the computer once.
Or perhaps someone has better Ram to recommend to use permenently? I would like to overclock in the future if possible. Or if anyone knew how to boot with my current RAM that would be even more helpful. I will be making any purchases from ncix.com.
Thanks!
