    ip35 vanilla + 4gb OCZ reaper 1066

Hey guys, I am having some serious issues with getting this combination to work.
Has anyone got 2x2gib of DDR1066 to work in the IP35 "Dark Raider"?

I can't even get into the BIOS when I plug 1 stick in.
Ive tried the old ram, and upped the voltage, looseneed the timings and then shut down and put the new stick in, but it won't post.

What can I do? (BIOS 16)

    Any help appreciated!

How much have you upped the voltage? I use 1066 Kingmax on IP35 and I was initially having serious problems, the board would boot but crash soon after. Luckily I could enter bios and go from 1.8V to 2.1V (normal timings, <1000 MHz). I later found that 2.05V also works fine. 2.0V is OK if I clock them @ approx. 800. It's just that my sticks need that much power, period. Perhaps you're still giving your sticks not enough juice? 2.1V is not a big deal, try it.

Thanks, tried 2.1 off the bat, thought if I can get it to boot I could turn it down. But I can't

No problem, sorry it didn't help. These problems can be immensely frustrating.

    Re: ip35 vanilla + 4gb OCZ reaper 1066

Hmm I'm running 8GB (4x2GB sticks) of 1066Mhz Patriot ram @ 800Mhz without any issues on my IP35DR. Got to say I tend to stay away from OCZ products these days as I've had issues in the past.

Having said that I did have random no boot issues with this ram and other makes in the past on this board. Everything would run fine until I rebooted and then it wouldn't boot and I'd have to take the ram out & boot it with one stick of Corsair ram and then play with the voltages. What sorted it was a new PSU, was running a Tagan now running an Antec True Power New 650w.

What CPU are you running and what are your other voltages and are you overclocking at all??

    Re: ip35 vanilla + 4gb OCZ reaper 1066

I have a Corsair 620W so it should be good.

I am not overclocking when tryin to get POST, everything stock in terms of FSB.

    Vdimm 2.1
    MCH 1.3something
    Vcrore standard

Any others that would help diagnose the problem?
It just freezes on the POST screen before it lists all drives, I've left it for 5 mins to see if it work it out, but to no avail.

Yes all of them please not just those 3 and be accurate 1.3something is not entirely helpful. Also what cpu are you running quad or dual core?

When mine wouldn't post it hung at the same point yours did so maybe we can solve this.

OK cool, I will get a full list and post it up, also took a picture of where it hangs
Will POST full list of specs and voltages + picture when I get home

    Re: ip35 vanilla + 4gb OCZ reaper 1066

Gotta go out to volleyball now but just for reference this is what I'm running a quad core Q6600 on that's overclocked to 3.6ghz.

    DDR - 2.2v
    CPU VTT - 1.35
    ICH 1.5v - 1.55v
    MCH 1.25v - 1.37
CPU GTLRef - 67% (for a dual core i think it's recommended to set this to 63%)

OK so I set mine to exactly the same as yours, have a Q6600 but only at 333x9 and it won't POST.
    Do you have 2x2Gib?

No I have 4x2GB which should be even harder to run. Do you have any other make of ram you can put in it just to check that it's not a faulty or ram conflict issue?? Also try running the ram at 800mhz or as close as you can get it using the memory dividers

    Re: ip35 vanilla + 4gb OCZ reaper 1066

Yes I have Geil Ultra (Orange Stuff) which I use currently. I set the divider to 813 which is pretty close, and on top of that they are rated to 1066.

I think I might have to just RMA them, because I realy can't see what the deal is.

    Re: ip35 vanilla + 4gb OCZ reaper 1066

Well having had a quick look on OCZ Forums (where I think you've now posted this problem) the issue seems to be around the boot strap. Hopefully one of the support guys will be able shed more light as you certainly don't seem to be alone in this issue.

    Re: ip35 vanilla + 4gb OCZ reaper 1066

I've read this term "Boot Strap" what it about? I tried google, but keep getting information about the boots you put on your feet.

From what I can work out it is just the actual program that boots a computer? BIOS?

Anyways, I have sent a support ticket to OCZ and got a simple response about BIOS up to date, Vdimm, Timings etc, all of which I have tried, and haven't heard anything back for two days. We shall see what happens.

    Thanks for the help
