    Major problem with AN-M2HD Mobo

    Hello,

A while back I built a HTPC consisting of an AN-M2HD motherboard all was well in the initial stages but the longer I have had the Mobo more problems have arisen.

When I first I had mobo the following problems occurred in the following order :

    1. My front USB ports on my case no longer operated, and if i placed a USB device there it would make the OS Hang.

    2. I had to remove my external SB Audigy ZS card because the PC wouldn't get passed by the BIOS or wouldn't load seemed to me the PCI slot was dodgy, since it was removed the problem was resolved.

    Now the Major Gripes start

    3. I use the HDMI port to connect to my Samsung LE40A656 and previously if the LCD was in standby mode windows would still pick it up and if i put the computer to sleep it would be still there and I wouldn't need to restart the machine.

NOW i have to load my LCD On with Windows and it detects it and if i turn the LCD off the secondary monitor would automatically lose its recongition (makes sense if it were a USB but it didn't happen before) and if i switch the LCD on and try to detect it - it doesn't work , and intermittently if i put the PC to sleep and switch it back on it sometimes recognises it.

    4. This the major issue when i restart my machine or shutdown when i power it back up the PC runs as normal but it does not output no signal whatsoever via the DSUB or HDMI and I have to pull the power cable from the PSU and load it back up.

Sometimes this works and extreme cases I have to clear the CMOS jumper settings or remove the battery and it will load, now its gotten really bad when i clear the CMOS and then go back into the bios to make changes when i save it, it doesn't load

I seriously don't know what is up with this mobo anymore, any help would be appreciated or if you need any further clarification on the problems stated please ask

    PC Specs :

    CPU : AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+
Mobo: Abit AN-M2HD (if you didnt catch it already )
    RAM: Corsair 2GB RAM 6400
    GPU : NVIDA Geforce 7050PV / Nforce 630a
    HDD: Samsung 500GB HD501LJ

Re: Major problem with AN-M2HD Mobo

I have had funky boot problems with pcie and booting down with sometimes the cpu not wanting to turn on w/o a cmos jump for no reason.... tonite is the first time in ages that I was able to boot a pcie card at all not to mention without a single respin of the fans which when it was getting bad was very frequent. I ended up trying to swap bios chips from another dead an-m2hd I had and when that did not work with the bios chip removed I power cycled the mobo. popped the bios chip in and presto! Fired both the pcie cards right up first spin that I tried.
