Nice! But why the glossy screen?! (I personally hate them)
If you're doing grid stuff on it, you'd better watch your temps. I can only run grid jobs on a single core on my 15" MBP, as it gets too hot if both cores are running @100% all of the time. Download smcFanControl... it'll tell you the cpu temp as well as give you control over the fan speed
I prefer the glossy screens, especially as some of the work can be done outside. Somehow I find they're better outside.
As for temps, if it melts, it melts - it's not mine and it's guaranteed for 3 years. It'll get replaced before then.
I've got the 15 inch 2.4..
lurvely machine.
I went for the matte screen having had the glossy screen on the macbook.
I havnt seen the matt screen, but I havnt had any real problems with the glossy screen on my macbook.
Glossy screens are just a scam if you ask me. A new "better" feature that saves manufacturers a few quid to improve their profit margins. Angers me greatly.
I have some glossys and some standard and they both have their advantages. I wouldn't pay more for a glossy screen but if it comes with one its not a deal killer for me.
I wouldnt pay an extra for one, but when its a choice of either or, id probabily go again for a glossy.
What exactly is a low res computer monitor?!17" hi res glossy screen
I wish my MacBook came with the option of a matte screen... this glossy finish is dreadful in 99% of light conditions. Here at my desk it's worse than the GLASS CRT sitting next to it!
The 17mbp has the option for a very high res display. The same as some 24in displays!
i love glossy screens, a lot easier to clean, better colours and definitely great for movies
