I have a MacBook Pro 13" unibody (new model with the internal battery) & a mac mini 1.6 core duo (upgrading soon to the new model of mini) that I use a media centre.

Been using macs since the Powerbook G4 days.

Re: What Mac have you got?

Ha - that shows a point and would seem to be Apple's short-sightedness:
I'm sure the percentage of people who have Hackintoshes who then end up buying a MacBook 'for real' are greater than those Apple think they 'lose' by people building the Hackintoshes in the first place.

It's the same with Jailbreaking the iPhone - I'm sure there would be a lot less 'going around' if it wasn't so easy to jailbreak and run those extra apps - then Apple would lose out on their userbase massively.

I certainly wouldn't bother with my iPhone if I couldn't jailbreak it...
And I bought a MacBook after running a Hackintosh for a few weeks and deciding it would work great 'on the road'. My Hackintosh machine is now running Windows 7 and has no Apple on it at all, other than the sticker

A broken Mac Mini Core 2 Duo

Hardly used, 13 months in completely dead. Just got it to see what all the MAc hype was about.

The guy at the completely inappropriately named genius bar had no idea what was worng with it but reckoned he could fix it for £200

This begins and ends my foray into the world of Apple.
